In September, Stefania Degli Abbati and Francesco Parisse (University of Genoa) attended the 14th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions in Lausanne. Their contribution, “Design challenges in shake-table testing of reduced-scale masonry building for the floor response spectra evaluation”, discusses the challenges of designing the 1:3 unreinforced brick masonry building developed within the NEWTON project. It also presents preliminary results from numerical simulations supporting the testing protocol.
